A Little About Me
Since 2022, I've been part of the coaching team for my son's grassroots team at Rotherfield United Football Club based in South Oxfordshire. This role has allowed me to combine my passion for football with my desire to help others, particularly young athletes.

In addition to my practical experience, I've been committed to advancing my coaching skills through the FA learning journey. My goal is to continuously improve my knowledge and session delivery, seizing every opportunity to learn from other coaches. I've had the privilege of observing sessions from a range of coaches, including former Premier League players, Pro licensed coaches and Category 1 academy coaches, which has provided me with a diverse understanding of coaching methodologies and session content.

My coaching approach is straightforward yet effective. I incorporate a variety of equipment into our sessions to ensure they are engaging and appropriately challenging. My aim is to push my players to improve without overwhelming them, thereby maintaining their confidence. Each session is carefully planned, and we provide our players with individualized learning plans and challenges to work on outside of our sessions.

Rotherfield United F.C U7's
2022
My journey started coaching the U7's with around 20 boys training on a Wednesday evening and playing 5 a side on Saturday mornings.

As well as performing this role I also generated a large number of drills to aid development of our boys and focus on areas we perhaps hadn't focussed on before.
Rotherfield United F.C U8's
2023
After a season coaching my 5 a side team I took on a new role of head of development and training within our squad which has grown to around 30 boys.

My role includes coming up with new drills and sessions to challenge and develop the boys as they transitioned from 3G 5 a side to playing on a bigger grass pitch playing 7 a side.
Rotherfield United F.C U9's
2023
With a squad of 32 boys with vastly different development levels it's my job to design to put into practice training sessions that not only help the boys improve and develop but to enjoy and have fun.
Rotherfield United F.C U10's
2024- Present
I have recently taken up the role of Head Coach for our U10 team, which will be playing up a year in the U11 division of the BYFL this season. My responsibilities as Head of Training and Development at the club remain unchanged.

In this new role, I am tasked with preparing the boys for the transition to 9v9 matches and introducing them to the offside rule.
Rotherfield United F.C Women's Development Team (Queen Bee's)
2024
After the RUFC Ladies won the league in the 22/23 season, the team welcomed many new players and established a development team to play alongside the main squad. For the most part, training is conducted with both teams together.

In my role with the ladies' team, I design and deliver training sessions specifically for the development squad. My focus is on enhancing their overall football skills, building their confidence, and deepening their understanding of the game.
